Chipotle Salsa

This chipotle salsa recipe has originated from Mexican cuisine. Chipotle is another form of jalapeno which is formed when jalapeno becomes dry and is exposed to smoke making its smell quite pungent. In this recipe, tamarind paste is used to give slightly sweet and sour taste to this salsa. On the other hand, the original chipotle salsa contains lime juice. So try this different recipe of salsa which is prepared in just 20 minutes and can be served to a maximum of 4 people.

Ingredients Required:

15 pieces of Chipotle
4 soft tomatoes (chopped)
6 cloves garlic (finely chopped)
1/2 cup tamarind paste
1 teaspoon black pepper
Salt to taste

Cooking Instructions:

First step is to prepare tamarind paste for your salsa. Soak half pack of tamarind in one cup of water for just five minutes. After that mash the tamarind pieces in water using your hands and take out their seeds. Tamarind paste is ready.Take a sauce pan and put all the ingredients in it then let them boil on medium heat for five minutes.

When the mixture starts bubbling, reduce the flame and cook on low heat for at least ten minutes until the mixture has reduced to one third of its quantity. After that let the salsa mixture cool down at room temperature. Then put the mixture in a blender and make a smooth paste. Now using strainer, take out the remaining undissolved parts such as tomato skins and seeds to make a very smooth paste of salsa which has uniform consistency. Now let the prepared chipotle salsa cool down and then serve with any snack at tea time.
